Nestled down in a cool Yosemite gully full of rocks and ferns, these beautiful backlit green and yellow-orange leaf trees project their florescent brilliance as the creek they grow from rushes by. I cropped this image slightly from the full 4x5 to emphasize the central tree with bright green and yellow-orange leaves. I have that central tree framed top, left and right by dark silhouette trunks and branches. This framing gives it sort of a Japanese garden look. Borrowing Bruce Hodge’s tripod and 4x5 camera, I shot this image with Fuji Velvia while on a fall colors photo shoot with Charles Cramer in 1989.
